About the Author
Dr. John Samuel Barnett was a professor of Theology and Church History at The Master's Seminary and an associate pastor at Grace Community Church with John MacArthur in Sun Valley, California. He is now a pastor at Tulsa Bible Church as well as an author, lecturer, and radio show host. He founded Discover the Book Ministries in 1998 and now shares life and ministry with his wife Bonnie and their eight children. He has written 36 books and audio books as well as a video series on the Land of the Book in Israel.

the joy of a word filled family

A very readable, refreshingly biblical perspective on the family and parenting that has a fine balance between helpful principles and the practical realm. If there is one book to have in library regarding parenting, this is it. A 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being excellent. It provides encouragement from one who has been there who understands both the difficulties and joys of marriage and raising children.

Great Biblical Family Life Book

I am thankful for this book that addresses family life biblically. Barnett offers great hope for families at every stage of life, with a biblical basis. His humble, warm and gracious style is encouraging and challenging. I appreciate the inclusion of every aspect of family life with responsibility for each member. Stronger, biblical marriages and families can change a nation. Not with lightning speed, but the slow work that is deep, meaningful, and real, benefitting generations of that family for years to come.

Biblically solid with practical application!

What a breath of fresh air! Not only a solid, biblical look at the family, but also a very practical guide on how to the the 'Father', 'Mother', and 'Parent' that God wants us to be. This book excels in that each chapter has something of value to learn and apply.
